Rescuing Traditions

Culture and Nature Conservation are inherently bonded. There cannot be conservation if the local traditions and habits are that of environmental exploitation and non-sustainable activities. Many ancient indigenous customs are sustainable and valuable in order to strengthen a community’s sense of identity and its people’s sense of self-worth.

We encourage all forms of artistic and cultural expression to celebrate life, spiritual connection and nature. This enriches our quality of life and the many ways we present ourselves and our knowledge to others. BiodiverCity is active in supporting theater, dance, art, crafts and photography and is always open to more.

More recently, BiodiverCity is accompanying the local indigenous Mixe and Chinantec peoples to rediscover and teach their native customs and traditions to the next generations.
